MicroPro International Corporation was a software company best known for developing the word processing program WordStar, which was popular in the early days of personal computing. MicroPro was founded in 1978 and was headquartered in San Rafael, California. The company was eventually bought by WordPerfect Corporation in 1991 and its products were merged into the WordPerfect product line.
