The mascot of the Georgia Bulldogs is a live English Bulldog named Uga. The tradition of having a live bulldog as the mascot dates back to 1956 when Sonny Seiler, a prominent attorney and UGA alumnus, brought his own bulldog to a game. Since then, a series of purebred English Bulldogs from the Seiler family have been the official mascots of the university's athletic teams.

The Uga mascot is considered one of the most recognizable and beloved mascots in college sports. There have been a total of 10 Ugas since the tradition began, each with their own unique personality and appearance. The current Uga, Uga X, has been serving as the mascot since 2015.

Uga is known for his dapper appearance, with his signature red and black jersey and spiked collar. He can often be seen riding around in a custom-built air-conditioned dog house on the sidelines of football games and other athletic events. The Uga mascot has become an integral part of the Georgia Bulldogs' identity and a beloved symbol of the university's athletic program.
