The Allen Americans are a minor league ice hockey team based in Allen, Texas. They are members of the ECHL (formerly known as the East Coast Hockey League) and play their home games at the Allen Event Center. The Americans were founded in 2009 and have been a successful franchise in the ECHL, making the playoffs in several seasons and winning the Kelly Cup, the league's championship trophy, in 2014 and 2015.
