The company's origins can be traced back to 1907, when Keijirō Amemiya founded Amemiya Iron Works. The company became Amemiya Seisakusho in 1919 after merging Amemiya Iron Works with a number of different companies. As Amemiya Seisakusho, the company produced steam locomotives as well as some electric locomotives and diesel and electric railcars. Amemiya Seisakusho went bankrupt and closed in 1934.
