Carnage is a fictional supervillain in the Marvel Comics universe. He was created by writer David Michelinie and artist Mark Bagley and first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #360 in 1992.
Carnage is the alter ego of Cletus Kasady, a serial killer who becomes a host to an alien symbiote. Like Spider-Man's symbiote, Venom, the Carnage symbiote bonds with its host and gives them enhanced strength, agility, and other abilities. However, unlike Venom, the Carnage symbiote amplifies the host's already-existing violent tendencies, making Kasady an even more dangerous and unpredictable adversary.
Carnage has been a recurring villain in various Marvel Comics storylines, often pitted against Spider-Man and other heroes. He is known for his sadistic and violent nature, as well as his red and black costume, which is similar in appearance to Venom's but with a more chaotic and twisted design.
Carnage has also appeared in various other media, including video games, television shows, and films. In the 2018 film "Venom," which is based on the character of the same name, a version of Carnage is introduced as the main antagonist, played by actor Woody Harrelson.
