The Cincinnati Reds are a professional baseball team based in Cincinnati, Ohio. They are a member of the National League (NL) Central division. The Reds have a long and storied history, having been founded in 1882, and they have won five World Series championships, in 1919, 1940, 1975, 1976, and 1990.
The Reds play their home games at Great American Ball Park, which opened in 2003. The team has a strong and passionate fan base and a number of notable rivalries, including with the Pittsburgh Pirates and the St. Louis Cardinals.
The Reds have had a number of successful seasons and have a long list of talented players, including Johnny Bench, Joe Morgan, and Pete Rose. In recent years, the team has struggled to consistently compete for a playoff spot, though they did make it to the National League Championship Series in 2010 and 2012.
