The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) is the governing body for soccer/football in the Republic of Ireland. It was founded in 1921 and is responsible for organizing all aspects of the game, from grassroots level to the national team. The FAI is a member of both FIFA (the international governing body for football) and UEFA (the European governing body for football).
The FAI oversees the League of Ireland, which is the top level of professional football in Ireland, as well as the various national teams, including the men's, women's, and youth teams. The association is also responsible for the development of football at all levels in the country, and works closely with clubs and schools to promote the sport and provide opportunities for young players.
The headquarters of the FAI is located in Dublin, and the current president is Gerry McAnaney.
