Fairphone, a Dutch-based smartphone manufacturer that first appeared in 2010, announced that it has received a new investment. According to the information conveyed by Fairphone, the company received an investment of 53 million dollars. The new investment of $53 million will be used for Fairphone's development of sustainable technological products.
Fairphone's $53 million investment was jointly led by the new investors Invest-NL, ABN AMRO Sustainable Impact Fund, and Regenero Impact fund of Quadia, one of the former investors of the venture. DALHAP, DOEN Participaties and PDENH companies, which are among the former investors of Fairphone, also participated in the investment tour.
Let's add that with the investment of 53 million dollars, the total investment of the Fairphone initiative to date has exceeded 93 million dollars. Founded in 2010 by Bas van Abel and Miguel Ballester in Amsterdam, Fairphone is a startup focused on smartphones.
