The Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a people's party that brings together all layers of the Croatian people and other citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It bases its program on the principles of Christian democracy.
The Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina was created as an expression of the centuries-old aspirations of the Croatian people for the realization of their national identity and survival in the historical circumstances of the overthrow of the totalitarian communist government, and as an expression of the historical aspirations of the Croatian people for the realization of democracy, national freedom, equality and constitutionality of the Croatian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In Sarajevo on August 18, 1990, the 1st Assembly of the Croatian Democratic Union of BIH, the 2nd Assembly was held. assembly, 14.11. 1992 in Mostar, III. The HDZBiH participated in all elections from 1991 to the present, and achieved the plebiscite support of the Croatian people. She participated in the government from 1996 to 2000, when she was illegally and illegitimately forced out of power at the state and federal levels, even though she received plebiscite support from the voters in those elections as well. After the parliamentary elections in 2002, the HDZBiH once again participates in government bodies from the county to the state level, and has been a parliamentary party since the last general elections in 2006.
