The London Philharmonic Orchestra is one of the five permanent symphony orchestras of the United Kingdom, based in London. It was founded in 1932 by conductor Thomas Beecham and Malcolm Sargent as a rival to the existing London Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
