Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) is a public university located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA. It was founded in 1911 as a normal school for teacher education and has since grown into the largest undergraduate university in the state of Tennessee.
MTSU offers more than 300 degree programs across nine colleges, including the College of Basic and Applied Sciences, the College of Education, and the Jones College of Business, among others. The university is known for its programs in aerospace, business, and media, among others.
MTSU has a diverse student population, with over 22,000 students from all 50 states and more than 60 countries. The university is also home to several research centers and institutes, including the Aerospace Education Research and Operations Center and the Tennessee Center for the Study and Treatment of Dyslexia.

MTSU is also home to the Center for Popular Music, which is dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of American popular music.
