OpenAerialMap (OAM) is a project that provides free and open access to aerial imagery from around the world. It is a collaborative platform that enables individuals and organizations to share and access high-quality, high-resolution aerial imagery that can be used for a variety of purposes, including disaster response, humanitarian aid, environmental monitoring, urban planning, and more.
The OAM project is maintained by the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT), which is a non-profit organization that uses open data and mapping technologies to support disaster response and humanitarian aid efforts around the world. OAM is powered by OpenDroneMap, an open source toolkit for processing aerial imagery, which allows users to process and upload their own aerial images to the platform.
OAM currently hosts over 11 million aerial images covering more than 250 million hectares of land around the world. The platform also provides a range of tools and resources for users to discover, download, and analyze aerial imagery, including a web-based viewer, an API for accessing the imagery, and a set of tools for processing and analyzing the data. OAM is a valuable resource for researchers, developers, and anyone else who needs access to high-quality aerial imagery.
