Pontofrio is a Brazilian retail chain, founded in 1946 in Rio de Janeiro by Romanian immigrant Alfredo João Monteverde, which offers products such as furniture, household appliances and electronics for sale in its stores. The chain was acquired in 2009 by Grupo Pão de Açúcar today known as GPA and, following the merger with Casas Bahia in 2010, became part of the Via Varejo division today known as Grupo Casas Bahia.
