The Providence Bruins are a professional ice hockey team based in Providence, Rhode Island. The team is a member of the American Hockey League (AHL) and serves as the top minor league affiliate of the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL). The Bruins were founded in 1992 and have played in Providence since their inception.
The Bruins play their home games at the Dunkin' Donuts Center, which is located in downtown Providence. The team has made the playoffs numerous times in its history, including winning the Calder Cup, the championship of the AHL, in 1999.
