The Radiodiffusion Télévision Française (RTF) was a French public broadcasting organization that operated from 1949 to 1964. The RTF was created to produce and broadcast television and radio programs in France, and it was one of the first public broadcasting organizations in the world.
The RTF was known for its high-quality programming, which included a mix of news, entertainment, and cultural programs. The organization also played a significant role in the development of television technology in France, and it was involved in the introduction of color television and the development of the first French satellite.
In 1964, the RTF merged with the Office de la Radiodiffusion Télévision Française (ORTF) to form the Office de Radiodiffusion Télévision Française (ORTF), which operated until 1974. The ORTF was then replaced by the Société Nationale de Radiodiffusion Télévision Française (SNRTF), which later became known as France Télévisions.
