Saab-Scania was a Swedish conglomerate that existed from 1969 to 1995. It was formed through the merger of two companies: Saab AB, a manufacturer of aircraft, and Scania-Vabis, a manufacturer of trucks and buses.

The merger was intended to create a diversified industrial company that could compete globally in a range of industries, including aerospace, automotive, and defense. Saab-Scania went on to expand its operations, acquiring companies in fields such as telecommunications and information technology.

In the automotive industry, Saab-Scania produced cars under the Saab brand, which were known for their advanced engineering and safety features. However, the company struggled to compete with larger automakers and eventually sold the Saab brand to General Motors in 2000.

In 1995, Saab-Scania was restructured and split into two separate companies: Saab AB, which continued to produce aircraft and defense systems, and Scania AB, which continued to produce trucks and buses. Today, Scania AB is a subsidiary of the German automaker Volkswagen AG, while Saab AB is a part of the Swedish defense company Saab Group.
