Santa Cruz Warriors: The Official G League Affiliate of the Golden State Warriors
The Santa Cruz Warriors are a professional basketball team based in Santa Cruz, California. They are affiliated with the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and compete in the NBA G League, the NBA's official minor league.
The Santa Cruz Warriors were founded in 2006 as the Dakota Wizards and played their first season in the NBA G League in 2006-07. The team moved to Santa Cruz in 2012 and adopted their current name. The Warriors play their home games at Kaiser Permanente Arena, which has a seating capacity of approximately 2,500 spectators.
The Santa Cruz Warriors have won four NBA G League championships, in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2021. The team has also had several notable players throughout its history, including Kent Bazemore, Jeremy Lin, and Quinn Cook, who have all gone on to play significant roles on the Golden State Warriors' NBA roster.
