STS-92 was a Space Shuttle mission that was launched on October 11, 2000, from Kennedy Space Center in Florida, United States. The primary goal of the mission was to deliver the Z1 Truss and Pressurized Mating Adapter 3 (PMA-3) to the International Space Station (ISS), as well as to perform a number of scientific experiments.
The STS-92 mission patch features a depiction of the Space Shuttle Discovery orbiting Earth, with the ISS and the Z1 Truss attached to it. The patch also includes the mission number (STS-92) and the names of the crew members, as well as the motto "Building the ISS: The Final Piece." The blue and green colors on the patch represent Earth and the universe, respectively, and the silver star represents the space station. The patch was designed by artist Paul Pierpont.
