The 2026 FIFA World Cup is the 23rd World Cup to be organized by FIFA in North America. The host countries of the tournament are the USA, Canada and Mexico.
According to the new criteria set by FIFA, starting from the 2026 FIFA World Cup, 48 teams will compete in this tournament instead of 32 teams. Thus, this will be the first World Cup in which 48 teams will compete.

The tournament is scheduled to take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 16 to July 16, 2026. It will be the first time that the World Cup will be held in multiple countries since the 2002 tournament in South Korea and Japan, and the first time it will be held in North America since the 1994 tournament in the United States. The 2026 World Cup will feature an expanded field of 48 teams, up from the current 32-team format. The United States, Canada, and Mexico will each host a portion of the tournament. The final of the 2026 World Cup is scheduled to be played at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
