The United States Capitol Visitor Center (CVC) is a visitor center located in Washington, D.C., near the United States Capitol. The CVC is a public facility that is open to the public year-round, offering guided tours of the Capitol, as well as exhibits and educational programs about the history and function of the United States Congress.
The CVC is a modern, underground facility that was built to provide a welcoming and informative experience for visitors to the Capitol. It features a number of exhibits and interactive displays that provide an overview of the history and role of the United States Congress, as well as information about the architecture and art of the Capitol.
In addition to its exhibits and displays, the CVC also offers guided tours of the Capitol. These tours are led by trained guides who provide an in-depth look at the history and function of the Capitol, as well as a behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of the United States Congress.
The CVC is open to the public year-round, with the exception of some holidays. Admission is free, and tours are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations are not required, but visitors are encouraged to arrive early, as tours can fill up quickly.
