Tool is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California. The band was formed in 1990 and consists of vocalist Maynard James Keenan, guitarist Adam Jones, drummer Danny Carey, and bassist Justin Chancellor. Tool is known for its complex and often enigmatic music, which blends elements of progressive rock, heavy metal, and art rock.
Tool released its debut album, Undertow, in 1993, which spawned the hit single "Sober." The album was a commercial success and helped to establish the band's reputation as one of the leading acts in the alternative metal scene.
