The US Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR) is a division of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) within the US Department of Commerce. OAR conducts research on a wide range of topics related to the oceans and the atmosphere, including climate change, weather forecasting, and oceanography. OAR's research is aimed at improving the understanding of these systems and their interactions, as well as developing practical applications that can help address issues such as extreme weather events, sea level rise, and ecosystem degradation.
