Young Democratic Socialists (YDS) is the youth and student section of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), which is a democratic socialist organization in the United States. YDS works to build a more just and equitable society by organizing young people in support of democratic socialism. The organization has local chapters on college campuses, high schools and other communities around the country.
YDS members focus on a wide range of issues including, affordable housing, healthcare for all, labor rights, racial justice, and a green new deal, They work to support DSA campaigns, participate in local and national social justice movements, and educate the public about democratic socialism. The organization also provides opportunities for young people to develop leadership skills, and to learn about socialist theory and political strategies.
