AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) is a program that engages individuals in full-time service to address poverty and improve the capacity of non-profit organizations. AmeriCorps VISTA members serve with organizations that are working to combat poverty and address its underlying causes. This may include providing education, improving access to healthcare, and other services.
AmeriCorps VISTA members receive a living allowance and may be eligible for education awards to help pay for college or pay off student loans. In addition to the satisfaction of serving others, AmeriCorps VISTA members gain valuable skills and experience.
