The Connecticut Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is a state agency that provides support and services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in Connecticut. The agency was created in 1977 and is responsible for implementing the state's policies and programs related to IDD.
DDS provides a wide range of services to individuals with IDD, including early intervention, education, vocational training, residential services, and family support. It also operates several state-run residential facilities for individuals with IDD. The agency works closely with other state agencies, as well as with private providers, to coordinate and deliver services to individuals with IDD and their families.
