The Hartford Wolf Pack is a professional ice hockey team based in Hartford, Connecticut. The team is a member of the American Hockey League (AHL) and serves as the top minor league affiliate of the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League (NHL). The Wolf Pack was founded in 1926 and has played in Hartford since 1997, when the team moved from Providence, Rhode Island.
The Wolf Pack plays its home games at the XL Center, which is located in downtown Hartford. The team has made the playoffs several times in its history, but has not yet won a division or conference championship. Some notable players who have played for the Wolf Pack include Henrik Lundqvist, Marc Staal, and Chris Kreider, all of whom have gone on to successful careers with the New York Rangers.
