In 1960, a local businessman named Tom Perrine had a dream of building a country club on the east side of Indianapolis.
Mr. Perrine wanted to hire local great amateur golfers to design the course. He envisioned that would attract other local golfers from all over Indianapolis to join. Perrine ended up hiring Pete and Alice Dye to design, build, and move the land to their liking for an 18-hole family golf course. It would be Mr. and Mrs. Dye's very first 18 hole design in their newly established company called Dye Designs.
The course opened early in the fall of 1961 as Heather Hills Country Club. The course would be rebranded to Maple Creek Country Club in 1989 and still carries the name today. Maple Creek Country Club is now known by golf historians as the first 18-hole course designed by world renowned course architect and Golf Hall of Fame Member, Pete Dye.
Still a staple of the far east side community today, we try to honor our history daily by presenting a welcoming club atmosphere that members can be proud to call their home.
