The Ministère du Travail (Ministry of Work) is a government ministry in France that is responsible for labor and employment policy. The ministry is headed by a cabinet minister who reports to the Prime Minister.
The ministry's responsibilities include developing and implementing policies to promote employment and reduce unemployment, as well as regulating working conditions and protecting workers' rights. It also plays a key role in supporting jobseekers, including through training programs and other initiatives to help them find employment.
In addition to its role in labor and employment policy, the ministry also has responsibility for social inclusion policies, including programs to help people with disabilities, long-term unemployed, and other vulnerable groups to participate in the labor market. It works closely with other government agencies and organizations to promote inclusion and support disadvantaged groups.
The Ministère du Travail is the successor to the former Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Health, which was split into two separate ministries in 2016: the Ministère du Travail and the Ministère de la Santé.
