STS-41G was a NASA Space Shuttle mission that was launched on October 5, 1984. It was the 13th flight of the Space Shuttle Challenger and the sixth flight of the Challenger to carry a crew of seven astronauts. The mission was notable for being the first to include two women in the crew, as well as for carrying the Earth Radiation Budget Satellite, which was the first satellite designed to measure the amount of energy the Earth receives from the Sun and the amount of energy the Earth radiates back into space. The mission lasted just over a week, ending with a successful landing at Kennedy Space Center on October 13, 1984.
