The Newfoundland Growlers are a professional ice hockey team based in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. They are a member of the ECHL (formerly known as the East Coast Hockey League), a professional minor league with teams in the United States and Canada. The Growlers were founded in 2018 and are an affiliate of the National Hockey League's (NHL) Toronto Maple Leafs. They play their home games at the Mile One Centre.
The Growlers have a dedicated fan base and are known for their skilled and hard-working style of play. The team has had a successful history, winning the Kelly Cup, the ECHL's championship trophy, in 2019.
